Ecstasis Clinic is an organization founded in ethical precepts and committed to providing patient-centric healthcare and improving the health status of the communities we serve through the provision of excellent clinical quality, compassionate care, and research to further education.
Ecstasis Clinic shall work to be trusted by patients, creators of positive change, and a valued partner in our community. We shall achieve this through the delivery of excellent clinical quality, patient safety, service, and a continuous commitment to research and education. Ecstasis will fully engage patients in their care and wellness. The time for healing is now.
Jean Snyder
Dr. Snyder has been a registered nurse since 1983. She graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a Masters in Nurse Anesthesia in 1995 (CRNA) and her Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) from VCU in 2016. She has served on the NY and Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists state boards and most recently as the president of the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists for 2020-2021.
Together with Howard Goodwin, she co-owns Goodwin and Snyder Anesthesia Associates, PLLC, and Ecstasis, LLC. It is at Ecstasis she has found her passion in helping people feel better through Healing, Wellness, and Aesthetics. Jean also holds a patent for a patient safety device, ERMA (Error Reduction and Mitigation Aide) that she developed in response to a young boy’s death from an anesthesia error.
Jean has been married for 40 years to Tom and has 3 amazing children. Her reward for being a parent is her grandchildren – Charlotte Jean and Paul Thomas. In her spare time, when she isn’t skyping with her grands or dreaming about them, she gardens and rides her bike. She is looking forward to the day she can return to her medical mission in the Philippines.
Howard Goodwin
Dr. Goodwin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University in 2004, his Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Anesthesia concentration from Old Dominion University in 2008, and his Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. He currently serves as Director of Technology & Simulation at Old Dominion University.
Together with Jean Snyder, they formed their initial Anesthesia Group Partnership in 2017 and continue to grow in their endeavors with the Creation of Ecstasis – Focused on Healing, Wellness & Aesthetics. The goal is to help people meet their self-care needs in all aspects of their life: Mind and Body.
After settling into his career as a CRNA, Dr. Goodwin was voted a member of the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetist in 2011. He has served this organization as a District Director, Treasurer, & President. Additionally, he has served the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists as a committee member and committee chair.
Family being his highest priority, Howard enjoys spending time with his wife, Martha and their three sons, Thomas, Philip, and Matthew. As a family, they all enjoy boating, visiting the outer banks, and spending time with friends and family.
Jon Eskander
Born in New Rochelle, New York, Dr. Eskander studied Biology at the College of the Holy Cross, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. His medical degree was obtained from the Tulane University School of Medicine. After completing a residency in Anesthesiology, he began practicing in Virginia.
Dr. Eskander lives in Suffolk with his wife and daughter. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family.
